The Eastfield Fete, held in Eastfield Park on 8th September in glorious sunshine, proved a great success!  True, attendance at the festival could have been a bit better but those who did go had a marvellous time. The reptile tent was particularly popular with many of the children.

Friends of Eastfield Park used the opportunity provided by the Fete to launch their autumn 'AWAY WITH LITTER' Campaign and demonstrated their new BAGO litter pliers and other equipment supplied by Robert Acton Product Developments.

A few of the children present were sufficiently inspired to volunteer to do a bit of impromptu litter picking themselves and nobody can complain that we left the park with more litter than when we arrived!

Our poster for the anti-litter campaign is shown at the bottom right corner of this page and information about our autumn litter picking activities can be found by clicking below:

There is more to our 'AWAY WITH LITTER' campaign, however, than simply picking up litter from in and around the park. We are planning to take our campaign into local schools and colleges and County Cllr. Alan Wright and Borough Cllr. Elizabeth Gowen are providing prizes, through their empowerment funds, for children who produce the best anti-litter posters. More information about this aspect of our campaign will be published on this website next month. Remember:
